Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Pinpoint mobile application ("Service") operated by us.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, then you may not access the Service.

2. Description of Service

Pinpoint is a mobile application designed for automatic location tracking, trip recording, and AI-powered driving insights. Key features include:

  • Automatic Tracking: The app automatically records your drives and stops without manual intervention.
  • Data Storage: Trip detection and route data are stored locally on your device. Account data (email, profile, subscription state, AI usage counters) is stored in Firebase. AI queries are processed via our secure cloud proxy.
  • AI Features: Paid subscribers can access AI-powered features including Ask Pinpoint chat, Weekly Digest, and Drive Score & Coaching. These features send relevant trip context to our AI provider to generate responses.
  • Sharing: You can share your routes publicly. By sharing, you acknowledge that the route will be accessible to anyone with the link.

3. Subscription Plans

The Service offers three tiers:

  • Free: Access to the last 4 days of trip history with full automatic detection, route maps, and basic statistics.
  • Pinpoint Premium ($3.99/month): Unlimited trip history, advanced analytics, and Ask Pinpoint AI chat (10 messages per day).
  • Pinpoint Smart ($13.99/month): Everything in Premium, plus 200 AI messages per month, personalized Weekly Digests, and post-trip coaching insights. When the monthly AI quota is reached, the service continues using free-tier AI models rather than cutting off access.

Free Trial

We offer a one-time 14-day free trial providing Premium-tier access. No credit card is required to start. If you do not subscribe before the trial period ends, the account reverts to the free tier. The trial is available once per Apple ID.

Billing and Renewal

Subscriptions are billed monthly. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings.

4. AI Features Disclaimer

AI-generated content (coaching tips, weekly digests, drive scores, chat responses) is provided for informational and entertainment purposes only. It does not constitute professional driving instruction, safety advice, or any form of certified coaching. Accuracy is not guaranteed — AI responses may contain errors or omissions. Do not rely on AI responses for decisions that affect your safety or the safety of others. Always follow applicable traffic laws and use your own judgment while driving.

5. User Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the data you create and share using the Service.
  • You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
  • You must ensure your device settings allow the necessary permissions (e.g., "Always Allow" for location services) for the Service to function as intended.
  • You must not attempt to reverse-engineer, abuse, or circumvent the AI usage quota system.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of the app's creators.

7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We make no representations about the precision of location data or AI-generated content, as both are dependent on device hardware, GPS signals, network conditions, and language model outputs which may vary.

In no event shall we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service.

8. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of any significant changes. By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
